This course has really helped me to learn several management and communication skills. How to shoot fear infront of audience and speak. This course has made me learned various new topics such as Communication in digital age, Business presentation, emotion and feeling, communication and identity, Positive and Negative messages, Interviewing questions-follow up and many more things. By learning all these it has helped me to build confident and a good talker. I was having a fear of speaking infront of public and this course helped me to come over that!
Communication skills has helped me to build a strong foundation in this area. The presentation we did were all very effective and had organised me. These presentations were very important as each of them introduced us to learn and develop new skills. Moreover, I will highly recommend this course to do and the professor Gabie, she is just Awesome and is always helpful to each and everyone- she is very motivating , caring and a true example of a perfect mentor. She is the Best!
Chris Ashton Kutcher is an American Actor. I recently watched his video which was very impressive and effective on what are the Three things that he learnt or adopted which helped him to become a Successful Personality today. His idea on three things were- Opportunities, being sexy and Build a life, not live it. In the speech he compared opportunities to the hard-work which he did in the past ( he worked as a dishwasher in a restaurant , in a Grocery store and as a Factory cleaner ) in order to become successful. The second thing was about being sexy by which he meant that a person needs to be smart, thoughtful and generous and any other definitions of sexy are crap and do not buy it if somebody tries to sell it to you. Third thing was about building a life and not living it which states that we should always find new things in life and always create our own Benchmark in order to become successful.
Ashton’s speech has caught many young people’s mind in a Positive and efficient way. The way he gave his speech was very generous and can really help people to achieve their goals. So, you should understand that beginning of every successful story is small, the opportunities and our character & attitude makes the whole difference!!!
Watching Ellen’s video was so satisfying that an individual can accept themselves as they are and not ashamed of any personality and individuality. She gave an extraordinary speech about how LGBT people suffer in their daily lives and the problems they face is not at all easy-its very difficult for them to hide their identity as the society does not accept them due to their individuality.
The main focus of this speech was to inculcate the feeling of love, humanity and acceptance for other irrespective of their sex, personality and appearance. In this video it is also explained that start spreading love and try and try to accept people as they are and do not judge them on the basis of their personality or individuality. Due to this most of the people are not able to express their true selves as they are and feel complexed to do so.
The great idea behind this video was Ellen accepted her sexuality in front of the audience which was an act of Bravery. This video conveys awesome message and everyone must follow it and should never judge a person by their sex!!!!!
So, I found this video very interesting and the thought is expressed through a different way. It’s a very good topic to discus and do blogging. Being brave is something we all look up to, so that we can express ourselves i.e. say what we want and do what we want to. In simple words being brave can help you the live the life you want to without any restrictions and pressure. I listened to a song called Brave by Sara Bareilles which brings out the very similar topic.
This song was how being brave can help us eradicate our insecurities and make us more confident so that we don’t feel inferior and left out plus how flushing out our words and feelings can make us feel better and become more expressive and social. Listening to that song definitely actualy helps you to believe in the concept of bravery as the visuals used in the song are very effective and lyrics are powerful too!
I gave an impromptu presentation today and I could definitely relate to the song. I think I can use what was said in the song to improve my public speaking and spontaneous speaking skills. Well, I do fear speaking in front of people just because I am not sure of what impression I would leave amongst the listeners but I think being a little more brave than I am today can really help me to boost my confidence and it could also be helpful to remove the fear of public speaking. Moreover, being brave in my daily life can help to eliminate my insecurities and nervousness and I believe it might help me to become more effective, expressive, socially active and spontaneous.
So, I will recommend listening to that song. It definitely motivates, encourages and boosts up your self confidence. Try to be a little more brave than you are today and it actually will make a difference.
So this blog is regarding my favourite book Three musketeers by Alexandre Dumas. I am very fond of reading certain types of book and I inherited this habit of reading from my dad. I also love to read magazines, fiction and non-fiction books. From all of the books that I read – Three musketeers is my favourite book and creates interest while reading.
The Three Musketeers is a very vivacious and entertaining book. The plot circles around D’Artagnan, a young recruit in the king’s guard forces, aspiring to become a “formal” Musketeer, his three Musketeer friends Athos, Porthos and Aramis, their squires and some of their enemies, most notably Milady Winter.
The characters in this book are very well developed. The book is huge with many pages which gave the author ample space to build a unique personality to each one of the major characters. Milady is cruel and manipulative, Athos is cold and balanced – the reader starts to expect certain behavior from the persons depicted in the novel – a sign of a very deep acquaintance with them is carefully described by the author. As a bonus, some interesting facts about the history of France are revealed.
As I said, The Three Musketeers is a big book, but one that flies quickly. The plot is captivating and flowing, encouraging to devour the book in a short time. Therefore, I will Highly recommended this book and I am sure that everyone will love to read it!
So it’s been almost one and a half year since I am in Canada and its a great journey with many good and bad life experiences. I came here in December 2018 and trust me, leaving home and coming to a new place was not easy as I did not knew anyone here where culture language and lifestyle are completely different. I came to Canada for my higher education and building better carrier opportunities. This was my best decision to pursue my future goals in Canada.
When I came here, I was nervous about new life, new people and new environment. But as the time passed I got used with the people and my studies as well. Pursuing my career in Canada will definitely give me best of everything. Arriving to a new country can bring joy and excitement but on the other hand international students like me miss their home country very much and it is very difficult to live without the family. I was the most pampered child and here I have to do everything on my own. But thanks to the technology that keeps us connected with each other and give the feeling that we are together through internet and video-calling.
I hope that my career and exposures to new beginning goes well in Canada!
So, I recently watched a video on Steve Job’s speech at Stanford college. This video is really fascinating and everyone must watch it. He talked about a few instances from his life and listening to that speech really makes you think that what are you doing with your life until now. In his speech he has mentioned three stories of his life that helped him succeed.
His first story was CONNECTING THE DOTS, and how all the choices that seemed like the wrong ones at the time turned out to be the right moves later on in his life. According to what Steve talked, one should really try to follow your passion and what you are good at. One should believe in destiny, karma or luck maybe which can sometimes help to take life decisions and when you look backwards you definitely will feel how those dots were connected. He also discussed how he dropped college and came into the Caligraphy course that he was interested in. He believes that dropping college was his one of the best decision.
Second story was FINDING WHAT YOU LOVE and follow that.He discussed about when he was 20 years old and started developing Macintosh which was considered the very first Macbook and how after some time he was fired from his own company APPLE. He realized that the only reason he never gave up was because he loved what he did, and thus wanted to continue doing it. He developed two more companies Next and Pixar which became remarkably popular and then Apple purchased that company and he was rehired as CEO of the company. With this he encouraged graduates to find Job which they love.
Third story was LIFE AND DEATH, Steve job is considered as an exception to the society. When he came to know that he was suffering from Cancer how he overcame the difficulties and fought against it. The most important tool that he believed in and learnt in life was – “Live Your life as if it was the last day”
The main idea about his speech was to show the newly graduated students how a man with little money pursued his dreams to become one of the wealthiest men in the world. Thus, I believe this video was highly motivating and one should follow what they love to do. The most important thing to take away is no matter what happens to us we always should follow what we love doing and what are we good at and we will definitely be successful one day.
Today, I watched a video by Mr. Bredon where he discussed 5 tips to improve public speaking tips and how to get rid of fear. He discussed the following tips-
Mastery of Silence- Many top speakers make their presentation better instead of seeing them as a sign of Burden. Instead of speaking continuously try to add pauses in your speech.
Mastery of Ums & Ahs – While giving the speech replace your Ums and Ahs with Silences. So, whenever you are stuck while speaking take a short pause and then speak.
Mastery of Audience- The quality of your presentation is always determined by how much your audience is attracted towards your presentation. Therefore, it is very important to make audience happy and feel attracted towards you. This can be done by identifying what do you want to convey, who your audience is, what do they want from you and how can you do that.
Mastery of Eye Contact- Maintaining eye contact with the audience is very important. You should try to either look at the audience or your slides. Even the size of audience is very huge make sure that you look towards every part of the audience atleast one time.
Mastery of Postures- While giving your presentation always ”Stick your feet together” to avoid problems like leg tick and legs being too far from each other. Body posture helps building confidence and trust amongst audience.
Moreover, the video was very fascinating and helpful for giving out the best presentation. Delivery of speech was done very well and the tips mentioned were easy to inculcate in order to become a good public speaker.
Volkswagen kickstarted a new era of Super Bowl advertising by unveiling “The Force” online the week before the championship.
The use of a young child creates a good impression about the commercial because as many know from watching the Star Wars series, Darth Vader is a very looming and dark character. The child’s reaction of awe and amazement staggering backwards is priceless, making the commercial very memorable for many. Another aspect of the commercial is the allusion to the car buying process, as the child attempted to use the force on the dog, baby doll, washing machine, sandwich, and finally the Volkswagen. After trying many different cars, the Volkswagen has “the Force” to be controlled by its buyer, a dream of every Star Wars fan.
Star Wars is one of the most well known themes when it comes to soundtracks. Using the powerful music of the iconic series in a commercial is ingenious, because it sparks a memory for many. Created in 1977, the Star Wars franchise was launched around the same time as today’s young parents were growing up. This is a perfect connection for their target market of adults, 25 years and above, taking them back to their childhood. The commercial is very relatable as every child wanted to harness, “the Force.” Volkswagen reinforces the desire as parents reflect on their childhood. The point of the advertisement is to illustrate the power, “the Force” waiting to be harnessed inside a Volkswagen.
The advertisement square is to describe the low gas mileage, and the power that is inside the car. The vehicles’ power relating to “the Force” is the flair created by Volkswagen. The association of the childhood memory is reinforced with the Darth Vader costume and music which makes a memorable and humorous advertisement. These two elements successfully separate Volkswagen from all other car makers by resonating with consumers.

Body language comes primary:We’re all are concerned about body language. It is non verbal correspondence and community researchers have contributed a massive period at looking impacts of our or others’ body language, on decisions. We create clear decisions and selections from body language. Also, those decisions can predict basic life results like, to who we select or support.
Dominance:One of the main things body language presents is dominance. People with authority prefer to stand up taller; their position is in same level with shoulders back straight. Precisely when we feel weak, we do clearly the reverse; our shoulders bend and we look towards the ground. We make ourselves ever tinier.
We balance each other:While interfacing with a different person, we ordinarily complement the other person’s body gesture. So if the other individual is commanding and huge, you will all in all make yourself lesser. We don’t reflect them. We plan something opposite of them.
Science bit:Amy’s evaluation found that powerful individuals are always sure and composed in hectic condition, since they had progressively raised scale of “control” hormone (testosterone) and minor levels of a “pressure” hormone (cortisol) in their minds than other individuals.
Pose for the power:She found that implementation of a power pose for two minutes changed the degrees of these hormones in our minds all around, and impacted lead at same time.
Small twist = huge changes:The important message from Amy Cuddy is that little changes can impel huge changes. So in prior you go into the upsetting circumstance, take power pose for two minutes and reorganize your mind steadily. You’ll get your growth up and get your cortisol down.
Conclusion: In conclusion, Body language is very essential and influence how we judge others, how they critic us and what are the effects of it. Everyone can plan their shape to transform greatest to some impulsive condition
